There’s been a lot of buzz about the Ram TRX edition. Ram truck lovers have been highly anticipating the truck’s release. That got us to thinking about Ram’s Special Edition trucks over the last year or so. So we looked at all the Ram special editions release over the last 18 months.
Here they are in the slide show below.
Here are 11 Ram special edition trucks you may or may not have known existed. Some are feature packed, while others have a specific purpose. But they’re all unique in their own way and in production.
Ram North Edition
The Ram 1500 North Edition focused on providing owners in cold-weather climates a comfortable drive, with functionality to fit the environment. In short, Ram designed this truck to be a dependable snow driver.
It came with three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) severe snow service-rated on/off-road Falken LT tires, 4×4 transfer case with 4×4 Auto, 4×4 High and 4×4 Low settings. one-inch factory lift, electric-locking rear axle and tow hooks (to pull the other daily driver out of the snow).
It included standard features that make cold mornings not so daunting; engine block heater, heated seats and steering wheel, remote start and heated folding mirrors.
Like many of Rams special trim and edition vehicles, this one focused more on needs than great looks. But it did come with a few stylish features such as body-color bumpers, grille, mirrors, door handles and rear fender “4×4” decal.
That said, the Ram 1500 North Edition still looked better than the average truck.
2019 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock Edition
The Ram 1500 Classic Warlock is a throwback to the original 1976 Warlock trucks.
It came packed with lots of features to make it unique, some of which were carried over to Ram’s newer model trucks. On the exterior it comes with black grille with bold R-A-M lettering, 20-inch semi-gloss black aluminum wheels, front and rear powder coated bumpers, 1-inch factory lift, black wheel flares, LED fog lamps, projector headlamps with dark bezels, LED rear tail lamps, black badging, tow hooks, unique hood decals, heavy duty rear shocks, LED bed lighting and power foldaway mirrors
Other features include Diesel Grey cloth seating, ParkSense rear park assist, leather-wrapped steering wheel, auto-dimming rearview mirror, overhead console and a 7-inch cluster display.
You have the option of adding the sport hood.
Ram Heavy Duty Lone Star Model
The Ram Heavy Duty Lone Star Model featured another Heavy Duty special edition truck built specifically for the state of Texas only. If your truck will only be sold in Texas then it has to be big and ready for work. This Truck meets both of those criteria.
If you want looks over function, pass on this truck and opt for the Heavy Duty Night Edition instead. This Ram comes with work basics as standard.
You’ll get a standard Class V receiver hitch, electronic trailer brake controllers and power trailer-tow mirrors.
Ram will never totally ignore looks, so there are few aesthetically driven features to add that touch of style. They’ve added chrome door handles, bumpers and grille surround. You also get halogen headlamps and 18-inch steel wheels.
The truck is simple yet functional, and just might be a little too plain for Texas.
Limited Kentucky Derby Edition
The Limited Kentucky Derby Edition is one of Ram’s Heavy Duty model special designs. More-so than the Heavy Duty Night Editions, this truck was designed for function rather than a unique look. Ram presented this as part of the Kentucky Derby fanfare because horses get hauled in trailers.
You don’t have to haul horses to benefit from this truck. If you haul a trailer, this special edition has all the extra features you want.
It includes the much sought-after 360-degree surround-view camera with trailer-reverse guidance, fifth-wheel/gooseneck prep, active hitch grid lines, air suspension with bed lowering, forward Collision Warning-Plus with trailer braking, bed step and DOT safety kit.
Other great features include the highly popular Uconnect 12-inch touchscreen radio, power-retracting running boards, Blind-spot Monitoring, premium full-leather front and rear seats (rear reclining on Mega Cab) combined with genuine wood and metal trim throughout.
Rebel Black
The Ram Rebel Black edition goes down as another simple modification that could be considered a trim package.
But Ram has a unique gift of making simple changes to a truck’s appearance, that have big impact in the overall look. This truck is no different in that respect.
The features are simple, but well-stated with black wheels, black skid plate and theme-matched all-black interior option. If you’re willing to invest a few more bucks, you can add the sport hood giving this a nice sporty look.
Ram 1500 Night Edition
As much as Ram may have impressed buyers with other special editions, this one may underwhelm. Ram marketed this as a special edition, but it’s hard to think of it as more than a special trim package. Either way, Ram did what it does best, make a great looking truck.
This could be the “special edition” Ram you want if you’re on a budget, but just want to brag a little when you’re with the guys. While simple, it still will make people take a second look.
It comes in multiple monochromatic color designs enhanced by black wheels, grilles, badging and other exterior details.
Ram Heavy Duty Night Editions
A special edition Heavy Duty truck? Who does that kind of thing? Ram does, because they know you want to look good even when you’re working.
The Ram Heavy Duty Night Edition was released in the fourth quarter of 2019. The Night in the name comes from the stylistically use of black in the truck’s color. Don’t confuse this with the midnight edition, the truck comes in colors other than black.
It does come with a black grille, black badging and black 20-inch wheels. The headlamps and taillights feature dark bezels.
And for the first time, Ram Heavy Duty trucks equipped with dual rear wheels now get 17-inch black wheels with machined pockets.
Ram 1500 Limited Black Edition
This sporty Ram 1500 offers a unique look. Nothing special about the color black, just the use in all aspects make this special edition truck look intimidating and it will definitely turn heads. It was released in the third quarter of 2019.
It comes with an array of styled black accents including a black grille with R-A-M letters, badging, tow hooks, exhaust, premium LED headlamps, grille surround, bumpers, door handles and side-view mirrors.
The 22-inch black wheels, tonneau cover and sport performance hood sets the tone for the aptly named Limited Black Edition.
2019 Ram 1500 Warlock Mojave Sand
Technically a trim package, but we included it because you can only get the trim package with the special edition Classic Warlock model mentioned previously.
In addition to all the features included with the original 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock model, you get a sport performance hood, black-painted 20-inch aluminum wheels and the unique Mojave Sand exterior color.
